Sunday Afternoon Dancing Planet Contra Dance
Intro lesson at 2:30 p.m., dance from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Bumper Car Pavilion at Glen Echo Park, MD.
Immersed in traditional dance and music from a young age, Chloe Levine leads us through this unique afternoon of dancing with enthusiasm and some oontz oontz, too.
Neon Creek is a fresh “electro-trad” duo from Philadelphia, blending driving fiddle tunes with electronic textures. Featuring Chloe Rosenthal (keyboard/synth/computer) and Jared Bishop (fiddle), the duo reimagines trad tunes as high-energy sets built on live looping, layered effects, and in-the-moment improvisation. If you’re wondering what electronica-infused contra dance feels like, the answer is simple: come find out! Their sound is playful, pulsing, and full of momentum -- perfect for dancers who like their Trad with a twist.
Admission: $15, cash, check, or credit cards accepted at the door (credit card fees apply).
