DC Square Dance (The Great American Square Dance Revival)

Come on down and get your hoedown on!

FSGW's DC Square Dance Collective is pleased to invite you to a traditional Appalachian old-time square dance. Square dancing used to be found in almost any American city or town. It was danced by young and old, black and white, urban and rural folks alike. Today, it's making a comeback as folks re-discover the sheer joy of a foot-stomping, rollicking, barn-shaking dance party.  You'll want to check this out...and we bet you'll be back for more.

This series features great callers and rockin' live old-time music by talented musicians from the DC area and beyond. ALL are welcome, brand new and experienced dancers. No partner, lessons, or fancy outfit needed.

Curious to see what it's all about?   Here are two videos you can watch:  Square Dance, Dancing in the Pews
