George Stephens & Kathy Westra House Concert

Takoma Park, MD on Thursday, October 2, 7:30 pm

George Stephens and Kathy Westra perform a large repertoire of songs from traditional sources, as well as from contemporary songwriters whose music reflects the folksong traditions of North America, Australia, and Great Britain. Now living in Owls Head, Maine, after many years in the D.C. area, Kathy’s career as an environmental and conservation writer, and George’s long career as a scientist with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have also inspired the husband and wife duo to sing songs that express an appreciation for the wild places that provide refuge from our busy lives, and urgent need to conserve our lands, waters and natural resources for future generations.

Suggested minimum donation: $15. Contributions of food & drink to share are most welcome.

For further information, reservations, and directions, contact Kathie Mack at kpmack2@gmail.com, or call 301-270-5367 (leave a voicemail; landline doesn’t take texts). (Notes: The venue is only a short walk from the Takoma Metro Station. Cats are in residence and there are six steps up to the front porch.)
