We won't let these days of Social Distancing keep us from enjoying singing with friends!
Fred Stollnitz will be hosting this month. The theme is still Foolish fables, loony tunes, silly songs.
The Open Sing will start at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time this Friday, April 3.
If you plan to participate, please take a moment now and sign up. Doing so will help us to run the sing smoothly. Use this Google Forms page
We will be using Zoom on-line meeting software. For each song, only the lead singer will be audible to other participants, who can sing along if they wish without being heard.
If you would like to have your song lyrics displayed on participants' screens when you are leading a song, please email the lyrics to Fred at email@example.com by noon Friday.
If this will be your first use of Zoom, go to https://zoom.us, click on "Sign up, it's free" (at upper-right corner of page), and follow the prompts (entering your email address when asked for "your work email address"). Do this ahead of time so that you'll be all set to "join the meeting" when it's time to do so.
You can join the meeting on any Internet-connected device (computer, tablet, smartphone), but the larger your screen, the more participants you will be able to see at once (up to 25 on a computer screen). If more than 25 join, you can see them by scrolling.
You can join instead by dialing a phone number, but you won't see others unless you also join over the Internet (choosing phone audio instead of computer audio).
The virtual doors will open at 7 p.m. so that you can join the Zoom meeting to chat before the singing starts. We'll take a break from singing after 70 or 80 minutes for announcements, snacking (at home!), chatting, etc.
