Gathering Sparks, the Ontiario-based duo of Eve Goldberg and Jane Lewis, was described by an Ottawa concert promoter as “plumbing the depths of gospel, folk, and singer-songwriter traditions with talent and grace.” After their debut EP in 2014, they were nominated for the Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year; since then, they have toured from British Columbia to the Maritimes and New England. Eve plays guitar and ukulele; Jane plays accordion and piano; and, in the words of music critic Eric G. Thom in Penguin Eggs magazine, they sing “rich, honeyed harmonies.”
