A Carroll House Concert

Traditional Music and Lore from Maine (with more than a touch of the Celtic)

Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee are Castlebay. They hail from Maine, a land of not only lobsters and blueberries, but a rich tradition of lore and song. Fred and Julia have loved and researched traditional music for most of their lives and blend history, legend, and experience into their personable performance style. Their concerts feature poignant ballads sung in Julia's ethereal soprano and Fred's rich baritone, interspersed with joyous dance tunes played on Celtic harp, guitar, fiddle, and tin whistle.

Ever since they began musically weaving together the heritage of New England and the Celtic lands in 1984, Castlebay has treated the audience to a musical journey through time and across the Atlantic.

They'll be at Janie Meneely's house in Takoma Park, Maryland. for a concert on Tuesday, April 19. Seating begins at 7:00 p.m., and the performance starts at 7:30. $15 suggested donation. Expect coffee, wine, and dessert. For reservations, contact Janie Meneely at 443-786-0463 or at janiemeneely@gmail.com
