Le P'tit Plan (Special Event)

French Folk Dance Music, for listening and dancingLe P'tit Plan plays dance music from several regions of France including Alsace, central France, and Brittany as well as classics from the bal folk repertoire. In case you are wondering, 'bal folk' is the term used for dancing to folk music in France. The band's instrumentation includes familiar instruments (diatonic accordion, flute) and more unusual ones (hurry-gurdy, cornemuse (french bagpipe), and mandoloncello). We'll have the front of the room set up for those that want to come just listen and open space in the back of the room for those that want to dance. Here's a sampler of melodies if you want to get a taste of what you will hear at the concert.
