  • 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Iain Matthews first gained attention as a founding member and vocalist for the innovative Fairport Convention's first three albums, changing the voice of folk music in his country. He moved on to create Matthews' Southern Comfort, exploring his interest in American music. They had a No 1 hit in the UK with Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock." After that, he formed Plainsong, which also received critical acclaim. These days he performs solo and with friends, drawing upon 50 years of his exciting repertoire and on this tour, Iain will be promoting an acoustic self released-album called "A Bakers Dozen." DC's own rollicking Callithump opens. $10 for FSGW members; $20 general public. Seekers Church, 276 Carroll St NW, Washington, DC 20012, steps from Takoma Station on the Red Line.
