Please bring, if you can, a small donation of toiletries or personal care goods to stuff care packages from Seekers Church to homeless people this winter. Especially needed: Toothbrushes, small tubes of toothpaste, dental floss, new cotton socks, gloves, washcloths, 15 ? x 25 ? towels, soap, shampoo (esp. travel size), hand lotion, disposable razors, shaving cream.
PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME if you are using public transportation. Free buses will replace Metrorail between Silver Spring and Fort Totten stations due to maintenance on the Red Line, and the Takoma Metro station parking lot will be closed. A limited amount of free parking is available behind the church; there is a public parking lot behind the Laurel Ave. shops at the corner of Carroll & Laurel two blocks away, and there is usually some parking available behind the funeral home two doors down from the church.
