Remembering Pete Seeger:

a concert of songs and stories Spook learned directly from the grandfather of contemporary American folk music.

Spook Handy is frequently described as a modern troubadour in the style of Pete Seeger. So we?ve asked him to come help us celebrate Pete?s music and tradition.

Seeing the Beatles on television turned Spook?s attention to music when he was a kid, but it was merely a diversion as he followed through his school years in the most expected of ways. He graduated from Rutgers University Phi Beta Kappa, in math and business. He was offered several lucrative jobs. But not being one to follow the expected course, he set himself up for different kind of a comfortable future ? by becoming a performing musician, a traveling singer-songwriter.
