Directions to the FSGW Getaway

YMCA Camp Letts

From Points North:

From Interstate 95 North of Baltimore, take the Interstate 895, Harbor Tunnel, around Baltimore to connect with Interstate 97 South. If you come to Baltimore by any other route, take the Baltimore Beltway, Interstate 695, to Interstate 97 South, east of I95 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway on the south side of the loop. As you travel south on I97, the exit numbers decend to #1 then jump up again. Take I97 past Exit 1 to Exit 22, MD 665, Aris T. Allen Blvd to MD 2 South. The sign says "Aris T. Allen Blvd to Riva Rd". You want the second lane from the right in the exit. Once on the exit ramp, one lane splits right to Riva Rd and three lanes split left to MD 2, Solomon's Island Road. The rightmost of the 3 lanes merges onto MD 2 South to get to Camp Letts. Follow MD 2 south for about 3 miles and turn left onto MD 214, Central Avenue. Do not take the earlier 214 West cutoff to the right, wait for the full intersection. Stay on MD 214 for a little over 2 miles. Look for Route 468 on the right, then the Mayo Mini-Mart, also on the right. Next 214 curves to the left. Camp Letts is on the right, just at the end of that left curve. Camp Letts has its own street sign, and there should be a FSGW Getaway sign as well. If you go past the end of the fence, you've missed it.

From The City (DC)

Take US50 east towards Annapolis and the Bay Bridge. Exit onto MD 665, Aris T. Allen Blvd to MD 2 South. Stay on MD 2, Solomon's Island Road.

From Points South:

From South of Washington, take US 301 North to MD 214, Central Avenue, and turn right. If you must come up Interstate 95, you have our sympathy. Stay on I95 as it becomes the Eastern side of the Washington Beltway to MD 4 East toward Upper Marlboro. Follow MD 4 for about 8 miles to US 301 North toward Baltimore. Stay on US 301 for about 6 miles to MD 214, Central Avenue and turn right. Stay on MD 214 for about 9 miles. Camp Letts is about 2 miles past the intersection with Route 2. After you pass Route 2 look for Route 468 on the right, then the Mayo Mini-Mart, also on the right. Next 214 curves to the left. Camp Letts is on the right, just at the end of that left curve. Camp Letts has its own street sign, and there should be a FSGW Getaway sign as well. If you go past the end of the fence, you've missed it.

At the Camp:

Camp Letts is a peninsula into the Rhode river, with Bear Neck creek to the North and Sellman creek to the South. The gravel driveway meanders for about a mile through the woods and past the stables to the dining hall and complex of cabins. Park in the large parking area at the end of the road.
Check-in at the dining hall any time after 5 pm and get your name badge, cabin assignments, weekend schedule, and sign-up for your work slots. Someone will be there to help you until 11 pm.
