FSGW presents over 200 folk events in the Washington, DC area each year. Concerts: Monthly programs (free to members), Special and House concerts. Dances: Weekly Contra, English country and co-sponsored International dances. Plus the monthly FSGW Family dances. The main purpose of the Society is to further the understanding, investigation, appreciation, and performance of the traditional folk music and folklore of the American people.
